Performance Assessment in Running:
GPS based metabolic testing

September 2 — 8 am Pst, 11 am EST, 5 pm CET

The physiological capacities of an athlete – such as aerobic capacity, lactate production and clearance, running economy, fat combustion and carbohydrate utilisation – determine the running performance of an athlete.
Therefore it is the goal of an efficient training program to improve these capacities.
However in the real world of coaching, assessing those metrics in an athlete precisely and monitor their progress within the process of training can challenging – at best.

In this webinar you are going to learn how you can access those metrics – and many more – only by utilising the a simple GPS running watch or even just split times on the running track.

Utilising the tools and methods explained in this webinar are going to essentially allow you to create a virtual performance lab, but where it matters: on the road or on the track.

  • The testing protocol aka series of efforts (GPS based or split times on the track)
  • How to administer the protocol and instruct your athletes
  • The concept of critical speed, as well as aerobic & anaerobic running power
  • Comparison of field testing vs. lab testing
  • Accuracy, reliability and quality control
