Head Coach of USA Triathlon’s Project Podium

Parker Spencer is currently the most successful coach of USA Triathlon. He is an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist and leads USA Triathlon’s Project Podium, the development program of USAT for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Under his guidance, Project Podium has achieved over 50 international elite podium finishes, establishing itself as a premier development program in endurance sports. Parker has also coached Paralympic champion Chris Hammer, who secured gold in paratriathlon, showcasing his ability to develop athletes across all levels of competition. His commitment to excellence was recognized when he received the USA Triathlon Olympic Coach of the Year award in 2022, making him the youngest recipient of this honor.

Paralympic Gold Medalist and Elite Paratriathlete

Chris Hammer is a Paralympic gold medalist and elite paratriathlete who overcame the challenge of being born without his left hand to achieve top finishes in international competitions. His dedication and relentless pursuit of excellence led him to victory at the 2024 Paris Paralympics, where he secured gold in the men’s PTS5 paratriathlon.

Beyond his athletic success, Chris holds a Ph.D. in sport psychology and has made significant contributions as a collegiate coach, helping develop the next generation of athletes. Residing in Arizona with his family, he continues to inspire through his achievements, resilience, and commitment to the sport.
