We are happy to announce that from now on, heart rate is integrated into our training zones. That means you can now describe a FatMax training zone – or any other training zone – based on heart rate.
In the past, INSCYD training zones were described based on speed or power. Even though it was possible to add heart rate data in some lactate tests, we now take it a step further. With the new Training Zone Builder (TZB) the integration of heart rate works much smarter.
Lactate test users can easily add heart rate values to the test results. Power-Performance Decoder (PPD) test users only need to ensure heart rate is recorded in the .fit file.
Adding heart rate to the INSCYD software can help you to:
Better help athletes who prefer to use heart rate
Some athlete prefer to use heart rate over speed or power. You can now easily describe their (training zone) intensities based on heart rate.
PPD test cyclists who don't have access to a power meter during training
If your cycling athlete does not have a power meter (or smart trainer), it did not really make sense to do a PPD test with them. That is because the report uses power to express the metrics and training zones.
From now on, you can easily test those athletes with a power meter or smart trainer, and give them a training plan based on heart rate!
Create pacing and nutrition plans based on heart rate
Adding heart rate to the software enables you to do all the cool INSCYD stuff, using only a heart rate monitor. Create a pacing plan that takes lactate accumulation and lactate recovery into account… based on heart rate. Or, see how much fat and carbohydrates your athletes burns, depeneding on the heart rate.
Analyse heart rate data of a race
Sometimes you only have heart rate data of a training or race. No problem! Analyse the performance of your athlete, based on heart rate data.
And many more..
There are many more examples. INSCYD users can check out the help center article that gives extra information. Not an INSCYD user yet? Book a free demo to learn more about the heart rate integration and the new Training Zone Builder!
Feel free to forward this software update to your athletes and (colleague) coaches!
